Helene is a native born New Englander, who spent some years as a city dweller while attending college in Washington D.C. and beginning her teaching career, and always dreamed of living “out west.” After teaching in a variety of public and private school settings Helene decided to take finally take her career westward in 2017 and moved to Truckee. When not teaching, or visiting the Humane Society with students, you can find Helene out on the trails with her dog, lakeside with a book, or on the slopes with her fiance. Helene has a background in English Literature and Special Education. She enjoys discovering new ways to make learning a student centered and student driven journey in and beyond the classroom.
