BA: Stanford University, Comparative Literature
David was the first of his family to graduate from college. He attended Stanford University where he studied ancient Chinese religious texts, particularly the Zhuangzi and the Daodejing, through the rubric of literature. He also studied Mandarin for several years and spent a summer at the Center of Chinese Language and Culture at Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan.
David has lived in Tahoe for almost ten years, and has worked almost every job in ski resort mountain operations—he is an accomplished snowmaker, a decent snow-cat operator, and a great snow-removal operator. In his free time, he enjoys reading as many books as possible, studying Classical Chinese, lifting a prodigious amount of weight, and watching Stanford football.
