Campus Life

Health & Wellness

Our goal at Squaw Valley Academy is to provide students with the best possible educational experience. We want your child to be supported and safe. Our Health and Wellness Center includes an RN nurse and a three-bed infirmary. Our consulting counselors include three PhD clinical psychologists, two family and marriage counselors, and a consulting psychiatrist who specializes in mood disorders and ADHD. We offer individual and group services for students in need.

Our counselors work with students on a wide range of issues, from minor adjustment challenges to major crises. Some students may encounter homesickness, anxiety, depression, family tension, attention deficits, learning problems, anger and stress management, eating disorders, and relationship problems.

Our professional counselors have years of experience working with adolescents, and if you wish more information on our counseling services, please contact our Director of Counseling Services, Erica Thiessen-House, at erica@sva.org.
