Fall and Spring Sports
Squaw Valley Academy is as much about where it is, as what it is. You would be hard pressed to find a school that has the rugged beauty and opportunities for outdoor adventure that surround SVA. So while we do offer conventional team sports, our emphasis is more on the individual activities that take advantage of our unparalleled surroundings. Our athletics philosophy is for students to develop self-esteem and self-discipline through the strengthening of the body and mind.
In the fall, Squaw Valley Academy students choose to participate in competitive soccer, basketball, or cross-country running. Other fall sports include: bicycle riding, swimming, volleyball, rock climbing, tennis, mountain biking, golf, fly-fishing, and hiking.
The beautiful Spring in the Sierra Nevada brings with it beach volleyball, tennis, fly-fishing, lake kayaking, river rafting, rock climbing, soccer, tennis, golf, and swimming. Other clubs, weekend activities, and sports electives are often created based on student interest and faculty expertise.
